I've always had problems being alone. Sometimes I still do. And the ironic thing is that I genuinely enjoy my own space and I don't like to be constantly in surrounded in social situations. But the idea that I am "alone" and tackling life all by myself just terrifies me. Over time, I've come to realize that even people who are constantly surrounded by others feel like they're alone in this world too. It's not just me.
A lot of the time the things we fear the most are the things we should jump head first into. I've always been scared of ending up alone, and that makes me much more determined to be as alone as I can be, and to love it. We all try to make spending time with our friends, our family, or our significant other a priority. But why don't we view ourselves in the same regard? When's the last time you booked some real quality time with yourself. I now think that it's essential to become your own best friend, and alone time can help you really get connected with yourself. There are so many things that can make hanging out with yourself fun. Here are 35 ideas for some good quality alone time:
Go to a class whether it's yoga, kickboxing, dance, etc.
Have a pamper night where you can get on those face masks, bring out the bubble bath and let yourself relax.
Go to a farmers market to grab fresh fruits and vegetables, and browse around for unique items.
Have a movie night with your favourite flicks.
